Driver identified in wrong way crash in Parrish

Around 11:00, a car hit a dump truck nearly head-on along U.S. 301 near Doris Road. The car's driver, 83-year-old Julian Laney, did not survive.

15 people stuck on roller coaster at Busch Gardens

15 people are reportedly stuck on the Cheetah Chase ride. The cars are at a 15 degree angle, and the fire department is working on getting equipment to remove the riders.

Parrish man dies after car is pushed off I-75 into river

The tractor trailer overturned onto the southbound lanes of I-75. The BMW's driver, 42-year-old James Proctor of Parrish, died at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer, 30-year-old Wayne Waldon, was taken to Tampa General Hospital with minor injures.

Three Disney employees arrested as part of sex sting

In the sting, which was called "Be Mine," detectives posed as children, or parents of children, in various online chat forums to connect with suspects seeking children for sex, authorities said.

Driver identified in Tampa wrong way crash

The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the driver as 28-year-old Daniel Lee Morris from Michigan. Authorities say Morris had recently moved to Tampa from St. Clair Shores, Michigan and had been living with friend Scott Eric Enfinger, whose car Morris used the night of the crash.

Driver dies in wrong way accident in Parrish

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a car was headed southbound on U.S. 301 when for unknown reasons, the driver steered across the highway at a break in the median in front of Ft. Hamer Road.

Man arrested after receiving shipment of marijuana

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, investigators received word from a California law enforcement unit that a package possibly containing narcotics was due to be delivered to a home in the 10000 block of Kidron Avenue in Englewood.

Bradenton Police investigating suspicious incident involving teen

. The driver of the vehicle motioned to the juvenile to approach him as he asked how old she was and where she went to school. The juvenile was able to quickly leave and go home and report the incident to her parents.
