Lawyer cries foul over incident at restaurant

Police: Bradenton man stabbed wife to death

According to the Bradenton Police Department, authorities received a 911 reporting a stabbing in progress at the location. Officers arrived to find Sean Mudgett stabbing his wife Karen and himself.

Undercover prostitution sting nets 92 in Polk County

12 of the suspects have been identified as “pimps,” and were arrested when they brought prostitutes to the undercover location; 39 suspects arrested were prostitutes; 39 suspects arrested those who wished to pay for sex from prostitutes; and 2 others were arrested on other charges when they accompanied suspects to the location.

Laurel Nokomis student named finalist in national inventors contest

Audrey’s project, called "Opening Up Opportunities", was inspired by her grandfather, who was a quadriplegic. "I noticed that he always had towels and strings wrapped around the handles of drawers and cabinets at this house. It was hard for him."

Operation Red Flag targets north Sarasota crime

According to the sheriff's office, the number of burglaries in that area was up. The arrests range from traffic offenses, to drug possession, and burglary among others.

Deputies: Women had their purses snatched at Hooters restaurant

According to sheriff's deputies, two women in their 20's were sitting in the outdoor patio area of the restaurant just after 9pm Sunday night. That's when they say a man they described as Hispanic grabbed their purses off the railing next to them.

Bradenton man critical after being hit by truck while on bicycle

42-year-old Johnny L Anderson of Bradenton driving was northbound on U.S. 41 approaching the intersection of S.R. 684. 44-year-old Mark Saba of Bradenton going east on his bicycle on the south shoulder of S.R. 684.

Sarasota sidewalks not ADA compliant

"I was trying to go around one of those street lamp posts and my handlebar clipped the rim of the lamp post and I ended crashing. I got 2 broken ribs, I broke my glasses, and that's probably about the 3rd time I got hurt because of the stupid lamp post," said Redding.
