Toddler nearly drowns in Sarasota pool

SARASOTA - An 18-month-old boy nearly drowned in Sarasota on Saturday.

It happened at his home on Berkshire Drive.

His mother told rescuers that she lost sight of the boy for just a moment. Another relative found him unconscious in the pool.

When rescuers arrived, an off-duty firefighter was giving the infant C.P.R.

Bayflite took the boy to All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, where he is listed in stable condition.
