DEEP CREEK, FL-Detectives arrested three people Monday on various charges related to a Deep Creek burglary reported on Saturday.

On November 16, the victim reported to deputies that someone had broken into her house and removed jewelry from a jewelry box in her bedroom.  The victim told deputies a possible suspect was a man she had hired to do some weeding and landscaping earlier that date.  That man had identified himself as “Richard.”

Detectives assigned the case determined that the possible suspect was Richard Alan Smith, 34, of 25333 Sandhill Blvd in Punta Gorda.  They also found previous associations between Richard Smith and both Robert Anthony Smith, 32, of the same Sandhill address, and Tiffany Marie Lalicata, 29, of 1747 Latarche Avenue in North Port.

When they checked a database of pawned property, detectives found that Lalicata had pawned several items of jewelry on Sunday November 17 at a local business.  They photographed the items that had been pawned and showed them to the burglary victim, who identified her jewelry.  The victim also identified Richard Smith as the man she had hired to work around her house.  Detectives viewed the store’s video and saw Lalicata was with Robert Smith when she pawned the items.

On Monday, detectives located Richard Smith, Robert Smith and Tiffany Lalicata.  After further investigation, they arrested all three people.  Richard Smith was charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Residence, Grand Theft of more than $10,000 and Dealing in Stolen Property.  He is being held on a $22,000 total bond.

Robert Smith was also charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Residence, Grand Theft of more than $10,000 and Dealing in Stolen Property.  He is being held on a $11,000 total bond.

Tiffany Lalicata was charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Residence, Grand Theft of more than $10,000, Dealing in Stolen Property and False Verification of Ownership.  She was released after posting a $15,500 total bond.
