BRADENTON, Fla. -- Three Manatee County men have been arrested following an incident in Bradenton that caused a lockdown in at least two schools Tuesday morning.
Lockdowns included Bradenton Christian School and Manatee High School, and were put into effect around 11:15am. Lockdowns were lifted after about 20 minutes.
According to the Bradenton Police Department, officers were called to the Walmart on Cortez Road for an alleged kidnapping. While en route, officers heard of a shooting in the 3300 block of 43rd Street West, near Bradenton Christian School.
At that location, witnesses said two men, later identified as brothers Adrian Trevino and Jesus Trevino, exited a vehicle in the roadway and began fighting. Jesus then got back in the vehicle and fired a shot from inside, then drove off, leaving Adrian behind.
Officers stopped the vehicle in the 1700 block of 43rd Street and took Jesus Trevino and two other men into custody.
Trevino was arrested and charged with Discharging a Firearm within 1000 Feet of a School, and Domestic Battery.
Also from the car, 26-year-old Richard Wiley of Palmetto was charged with retail Theft after it was determined that he stole several cases of beer from the Walmart just before the incident.
25-year-old Vincent Crews of Bradenton was also in the car and had an active arrest warrant for Violation of Probation.
Adrian Trevino was located on foot and taken to the hospital for treatment for minor lacerations.
