Today I’m going bananas! Not literally of course -- though some may disagree -- but as in sharing how this tasty tropical fruit can be used in many ways beyond being a healthy snack!

Facts are that bananas contain many beauty-rich vitamins, like A, B, C and E; minerals such as iron, zinc and potassium; and amino acids and antioxidants, which are terrific for your hair and skin. So here are a bunch of unusual uses for these yellow wonders, including some you’ll find more than appealing!

POLISH SILVER: Remove the stringy stuff and rub silver with inside of the skin. Polish with soft cloth or paper towel.

SHINE SHOES: Remove the stringy stuff and rub your shoes then take a soft cloth or paper towel to buff…It’s the x which restores the shine.

SHINE ‘N DUST HOUSE PLANTS: Remove the stringy stuff  to remove the dust and other yuck that’s on your leafy houseplants.

They’ve got antibacterial properties, so rub peels on bites to soothe them, and on skin scrapes to help heal them!

Use tape and cover a splinter with it; enzymes will help shift it making it easier to remove.

TEETH WHITENER: Remove stringy stuff from inside of the peel and rub inside of peel on your teeth.  The potassium and magnesium help give you those pearly whites.

BYE BYE BOTOX, HELLO BANANAS:  Bananas contain vitamin E which is known to reduce the appearance of fine lines and help prevent age spots from forming.  Mash up a medium ripe banana to make a smooth mask. Apply to neck and face and leave on for 10-20 minutes; rinse with cold water.

FORGET THE HEMORRHOID CREAM:  Got puffy eyes? Well yes, you got the bananas!  The potassium in them help to counter salt that can cause fluid to build under our eyes.  So rub some of that mashed batch under them -- or according to medical pros, simply eating one can reduce them.
