Teen seriously injured in Sarasota shooting

SARASOTA, Fla. - Police are looking for the person responsible for shooting a 17-year-old Tuesday morning in the Central Cocoanut neighborhood.

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department says the shooting occurred just after midnight on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of 18th Street in Sarasota for reports of a shooting and located a 17-year-old shot. The juvenile was transported to Blake Medical Center’s Trauma Center where he underwent surgery for life threatening injuries.
