VENICE - Venice Police continue to investigate an accident that resulted in a 15-year-old boy being airlifted to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg with severe injuries.

Police were called to Marina Park on Oct. 19 around 3 p.m. by a condominium resident across the Intracoastal Waterway, who reported seeing someone injured at the boat ramp.

The initial investigation determined a group of teens were driving a 1994 Chrysler around the parking lot. At one point, one of the teens was driving recklessly while another teen was on the hood, resulting in the injured boy falling to the ground.

The children involved in the incident were released to the custody of their parents or legal guardians.
