MANATEE COUNTY, FL (WWSB) - A 14-year-old male is arrested and charged with a felony in connection to a threat targeting Braden River Middle School.
Parents learned of the threat through a robo call on Monday, February 19. Manatee County District Spokesperson Mike Barber said that threat was made on social media.
The teen is the fourth student to be arrested on Tuesday in connection to threats toward Manatee County schools. Two 11-year-old girls are charged with felonies for threatening Teams Success Charter School through Snapchat. A 14-year-old Manatee High School freshman was also arrested Tuesday after police said he left a note at school threatening violence.
Local law enforcement are still investigating multiple other threats toward schools and have not yet made any arrests. Detectives found a second note threatening Manatee High School on Tuesday. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office questioned a student regarding a concerning post targeting Riverview High School. That student was not in school on Tuesday.
