MANATEE COUNTY, FL-  A postal facility on Tallevast Road in Manatee County set to close down this month, announced Sunday it will remain open, saving more than a hundred jobs.

Postal officials say lobbying by county commissioners and Congressman Vern Buchanan is the reason for the change of plans.  Last year, the postal service announced they would close the Tallevast facility as part of a cost cutting measure.

Estimations by the U.S. Post office was it would save roughly $8 million by closing the facility and allowing the Fort Myers facility to absorb the work.
