SARASOTA - Two people suffered minor injuries Tuesday after troopers say their SUV was cut off in traffic, causing it to flip over in Interstate 75.

It happened at 2:40pm Tuesday in the northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 211, just north of the Fruitville Drive exit.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Honda Ridgeline towing a travel trailer driven by 63-year-old Robert McGregor of Wimberley, Texas was in the northbound center lane.  That's when a Jaguar driven by 80-year-old Thomas Tyler of Venice changed lanes from the left lane into the center lane, in front of the Honda.

McGregor applied the brakes, causing the trailer to fishtail.  Tyler's Jaguar continued into the right lane, then back into the center lane.

McGregor lost control of the Honda, causing it and the trailer to overturn.  The driver and the passenger in the Honda, 62-year-old Linda McGregor, suffered only minor injuries.

Tyler was uninjured and charged with Improper Lane Change.

The overturned Honda blocked two lanes of the interstate, causing lengthy backups in the northbound lanes for several hours.
