ENGLEWOOD, Fla. -  Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives are requesting assistance in identifying two people who fraudulently used an Englewood man’s debit card multiple times at locations in Charlotte and Sarasota Counties.

In late October 2013, an Englewood man reported that someone had taken his debit card and removed more than $9,000 from his bank account without his permission.  The man said the transactions took place between September 23 and October 28, 2013.  The man told deputies and bank officials that he had never used his debit card because he pays for everything with cash.

There were a total of 37 transactions involving the debit card at locations in both Charlotte County and Sarasota County.  Economic Crimes detectives assigned the case obtained videos from several of the locations where the transactions took place.  Among the locations were Walgreens at US 41 and Cochran in Murdock, Publix at 17179 Tamiami Trail in North Port, Publix on Sumter Blvd. near Price Blvd. in North Port and Synovus Bank on Center road in Venice.

One suspect is described as a white female with a thin build.  She appears to have light brown hair that is pulled up.  The second suspect is a white male of medium to heavy build.  He appears to be either bald, shaved or very short cropped hair.

Anyone with any information on the identity of either suspect is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101 for the Economic Crimes Unit, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
