Suspect sought in Sarasota McDonald's robbery

SARASOTA - Authorities are asking for help identifying a man caught on camera robbing a Fruitville Road McDonald's early Tuesday morning.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, the suspect entered the store located on Fruitville Road between Honore Avenue and Cattlemen Road shortly after 4am.

The suspect is described as a light skinned male, approximately 45-50 years old, 5’6” tall and last seen wearing a blue button-down dress shirt and blue jeans.

Employees say the man entered the business, pointed a pistol at them and ordered them to the back of the store. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene. No one was injured.
