SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- Pine View School in Osprey once again ranks among the best high schools in the nation, according to a national publication.

The U.S. News and World Report's latest list of the top high school programs is out.

Pine View School, which is Florida's only public school for gifted students, ranked 6th in the nation for the second year in a row. Among Florida schools, Pine View ranked number one.

The magazine praises the school for its strong emphasis on parent involvement and its mix of traditional classroom learning with independent study.
