SARASOTA - This is a hectic time at Sarasota School for Arts and Science. They are packing up and moving out of their old building.
They have now received their certificate of occupancy, so very soon now they will be moving into their new building. But they won't have to move far. The new building is right next to the old one.
Principal Marilyn Highland says the old building served them well through the years, but they've totally outgrown it. It's dilapidated and they are excited about moving into their new home. "Not this week, but the next weekend, a moving company is going to move us into the building. Starting next week after winter break, all of our students will be in their new classrooms.”
Once they move out the old building will be demolished and a new gymnasium for school sports will be constructed in its place.
