SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. - The trial for Misty Stoddard, the stepmom accused of murdering 11 year old Melissa Stoddard, will be delayed until June. Stoddard's trial was scheduled to begin on Monday.
Misty Stoddard and her husband Kenneth, the girl's father, are accused of binding the special needs girl to a board and placing duct tape over her mouth. The young girl died of asphyxiation.
Misty Stoddard's defense attorney asked for more time to complete depositions. Kenneth Stoddard is set to go on trial in April.
