VENICE, Fla. -- Sarasota County will spend nearly $4 million to renovate the courts in south county.

Commissioners approved the plan during a budget workshop Wednesday. The money will come from sales tax.

The courtrooms will be upgraded, which will also improve security at the courthouse.

Courtrooms in south county are located inside the Robert Anderson Administration Center on South Tamiami Trail near Jacaranda Boulevard.

No word yet on when crews will begin the improvements.
