TAMPA BAY - The Sunshine Skyway Bridge re-opened for traffic Thursday evening after authorities shut it down due to wind speeds being measured at 50 plus mph earlier Thursday from Tropical Storm Andrea.
The bridge was shut down a little past noon Thursday and was closed for over six hours, until just before 6:30pm.
Adding to the rush hour traffic woes in the Tampa Bay area, the Gandy Bridge had to be shut down for about an hour after a downed power line landed on the road.
