Silver Alert issued for Venice woman

UPDATE: Venice Police Department has lifted the Silver Alert. Tui Margaret Gardiner was located and is safe.

VENICE – The Venice Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing woman who was last seen May 23 around 9 p.m.

64-year-old Tui Margaret Gardiner, who lives on Mount Vernon Drive in Venice East, left her mother's home in the 1700 block of Auburn Lake Drive, where she had been helping to care for her mother.

The 5-foot, 7-inch tall woman was wearing a pink shirt and light colored shorts at the time.

Gardiner enjoys playing tennis, attending the Venice Farmers Market and often picks up items at Murphy Gas Station on South Tamiami Trail.

Ms. Gardiner may be driving a 1994 faded maroon Honda Accord with a sun roof, Florida license tag: S503HZ.

Anyone having information of her whereabouts is asked to call the Venice Police Detective Unit at (941) 486-2444.
