Shots fired into occupied Sarasota home

SARASOTA - Authorities are investigating a shooting into an occupied home.

It happened around 10pm Tuesday in the 2300 block of Tulip Street.

According to Sarasota County Sheriff's Deputies, the residents were inside, when some knocked on the door. No one answered the knock, and soon after shots were fired at the home, with at least one passing through.

There were no injuries.

A red 4-door sedan was seen leaving the scene with three people inside.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Sarasota Crime Stoppers at 366-TIPS.
