PALMETTO, FL. - Deputies are investigating a shooting incident where shots were fired in front of a Palmetto home after a man put his infant child into a vehicle.

It happened Sunday around 10:45 a.m. on the 4200 block of 5th Ave West in Palmetto.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired at the above address. Upon arrival it was determined that Fabian Parker went outside and put his infant in the back seat of a vehicle. He was standing on the driver's side of the car by driver's door when a red newer Mazda pulled up. The passenger in the car called for Parker to come over and talk, but he told him no because the baby was in the car. Parker says the passenger then fired two shots. One of the shots struck the car he was standing beside in between the wheel well and driver's side door.

The vehicle took off then went north on 5th Ave East. Three more shots were fired out of the window and the vehicle fled the area.

There were no injuries.
