SARASOTA, Fla. -- A new ordinance in Sarasota could soon result in new hours for Payne Park.

The children’s playground at the park will open later and close earlier. The change in hours is meant to help stop vandalism at the playground.

Recently city workers have found broken equipment and graffiti at the park.

Under the new rules, the park hours would change from 5am to 11pm, to 7am to 8 pm.

The ordinance will be read and voted on a second time by city commissioners.
