Sheriff’s office investigates suspicious incident near Booker High School

SARASOTA, FL. - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising citizens of a suspicious incident that occurred near Booker High School Thursday morning.

Just before 8 a.m., a 15-year-old girl was approached by a man in a white Ford Sport Track in the 1400 block of Myrtle Avenue and asked if she needed a ride. The girl said no and walked onto campus. The driver yelled his phone number to the girl and drove off. The girl reported the incident to the school but the vehicle was not located.

The driver is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s. Surveillance cameras captured images of the vehicle which are provided for assistance in identifying the driver.
