SARASOTA, FL - Dominick Hawkins, the man officials says sexually assaulted a 5-year-old Bradenton girl on Monday, is charged with kidnapping and sexual battery but decline to attend his first appearance in front of a Manatee County judge Thursday.  No bail was set and Hawkins will remain in jail until his next hearing.

Moments before Monday's attack, Hawkins was seen on surveillance video with the child.  Those images eventually led to tips and his arrest.

Thursday we spoke the group of homeless people who helped police locate the suspect.  They tell us Hawkins was quiet and very reclusive.

On ABC 7 at 6pm we'll have full break down of Hawkins past, what many thought about him, and why some say he should have never been out on the streets.
