SARASOTA CO., FL (WWSB) - If you're a Verizon Wireless customer, you probably had issues getting a connection yesterday.

More than 1,100 customers reported outages online. ABC 7 spoke to Verizon staff who said they were looking into resolving the issue as soon as possible, but didn't have an estimated time when it would be fixed.

They said the company's maps did not show any sign of a network outage.

The service interruption affecting the Sarasota and Bradenton areas was resolved at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

In a statement from Verizon representatives, they said, "our engineers are working tirelessly with our vendor partner to resolve the issue still impacting the Port Charlotte and Venice areas as quickly as possible."

They also wanted to clarify that 911 systems are not impacted.

"Verizon Wireless customers in the impacted area will need to use a landline or other alternative service to place calls while the issue is being resolved. Also, another point of clarification, Verizon only provides wireless service in the state of Florida."
