"One of the bartenders came up to me with his hands up and said that we were being robbed," said Acker.
At that time there was loud music playing, so only a few of the dozens of people in the lounge saw what was going on. The many surveillance cameras on premises picked up everything.
"It's scary. Your blood starts pumping," said Acker. "You try and constantly think what can I do? What can I do? And the best thing to do was to let it happen, let them take the money."
The armed robbers ran off with hundreds of dollars in cash and two bottles of alcohol. Fortunately, no one was injured. The pair of suspects are described as black males between 25 and 35 years old. The first suspect is between 5'8" and 5'10" tall, with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a black beanie cap, gray hoodie and black shorts. The second suspect is around 6' feet tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black long pants.
"As you can see in the video, they go in without even hesitating. They go straight directly behind the bar with a rifle and with a shotgun, and go right up to the bartender without even hesitating," said Genevieve Judge, spokesperson for the Sarasota Police Department. "So, because of that, because of their manner, because they are considered armed and dangerous, we want to get these guys off the street."
