SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- A Venice man was arrested Wednesday for reportedly molesting a girl who previously lived in a therapeutic foster home that he ran with his then-wife.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, the girl, who was 14 when the crimes began, recently told a case worker that 44-year-old Harvey Dorey was a "pedophile." The case worker asked what the girl meant and she disclosed that Dorey had molested her on multiple occasions over a period of about a year.

Dorey, who is employed by the Sarasota County School Board as a school psychologist, was taken into custody Wednesday morning at North Port High School.

He is charged with Lewd or Lascivious Molestation and Lewd or Lascivious Conduct and is currently being held on $100,000 bond.
