SARASOTA, Fla. - Police have arrested a Sarasota woman after she admitted to severely biting another woman's ear in a dispute over a phone.
32-year-old Kesha Taylor has been charged with Felony Aggravated Battery. She is being held on $7,500 and her arraignment is scheduled for July 26th.
According to a Sarasota Police Department report, Taylor and another woman were in Fredd Atkins Park in Newtown Wednesday afternoon when the two got into a physical dispute over a phone.
Taylor told investigators that the other woman had punched her in the mouth and bit her nose. Taylor admitted to "losing it" and responded by biting the woman in the ear. She said that she knows her actions were wrong, but says that the other woman started the fight.
No other witnesses were found.
The victim was taken to Sarasota Memorial for treatment for a severe bite to her left ear. She may face Battery charges for punching Taylor.
Taylor was charged with felony aggravated battery in that she bit Watkins’ ear intentionally or knowingly caused great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement.
