SARASOTA - The Sarasota Police Department was swarming with children today as officers took part in “Take Your Child to Work Day”.

The kids got a chance to see how their mom's and dad's work hard every day to protect the community.

They met with the police K-9 dogs, sat on police motorcycles and got a tour of the SWAT truck and crime scene unit's lab.

“It's really cool to know that my dad has an impact on the community I live in…that he keeps everyone safe and it's cool to know that he has an important job,” says Caroline Dunn.

About 60 children took part in today's event.
