Sarasota Police investigate Thursday morning bank robbery

SARASOTA - Sarasota Police are investigating a Thursday morning bank robbery.

It happened around 10am at the BB&T Bank on the 3200 block of North Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.

The perpetrator is described as a white male, 6’01”, approximately 170 pounds; his age is believed to be in his 40’s. A weapon was implied. The perpetrator left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was observed in a silver 2-door vehicle. The vehicle has a sun roof and is believed to be a Toyota Solara.

Anyone with additional information about this robbery is asked to contact Detective Riley at 941-954-7062.
