SARASOTA- A Sarasota police officer fired nearly two years ago will get his job back.

Officer Scott Patrick was fired following an incident in August 2012 at the Ivory Lounge nightclub on Main Street.  A surveillance video shows Officer Patrick punching a suspect, Jason Dragash, while arresting him.

Officer Patrick challenged his firing through the police union, and an arbitrator decided that the city wrongfully terminated Patrick, and the officer acted "reasonably" in punching Dragash.

Patrick will return to the force next month, and will receive back pay.
