SARASOTA, Fla. -- If you asked most people whether or not they'd like more money in their pocket, they would probably say yes. If they could save the environment at the same time, then that would be even better.
Sarasota County is trying to help residents do both by offering a free 30-minute Energy Upgrade workshop that will provide information, tips and materials to help them identify areas where they can save water, energy and money in their home.
In addition to the advice, workshop participants will also receive a free "Do It Yourself Energy Saving Kit" with products valued over $30 to help start saving energy now (limit one per household). Reducing energy bills could not only give you more comfort in your home, but in your wallet as well.
Dates and locations for the upcoming energy workshops:
6-7 p.m. Aug. 26 at Fogartyville Community Media & Arts Center, Sarasota
2-3 p.m. Sept. 19 at Elsie Quirk Public Library Meeting Room, Englewood
10:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 6 at Fruitville Public Library Conference Room, Sarasota
The Energy Upgrade workshop is free, but attendees must register beforehand to ensure enough DIY Energy Saving Kits are available to distribute after the workshop.
