Sarasota man in serious condition after crashing motorcycle

SARASOTA, FL. - A Sarasota man is in serious condition after crashing his motorcycle Sunday evening.

It happened around 8:45 p.m. at Fruitville Road and Vic Edwards Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 36-year-old Alva Joseph Graber riding his motorcycle west on Fruitville Road approaching Vic Edwards Road. 62-year-old Michael Alan McMurry was driving east on Fruitville.

For unknown reasons, Graber veered to the left into the eastbound lane of Fruitville and struck the left side of McMurry.

This impact caused the Graber to lose control of the vehicle overturn. He was ejected from the motorcycle

Graber was taken to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition.

Charges are pending.
