Sarasota man charged with stealing over $11,000 from his grandmother

SARASOTA, Fla. -  Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department have arrested and charged a Sarasota man after they say he used his grandmother’s debit card and credit cards to make 166 fraudulent transactions totaling $11,651.33.

22-year-old Peter Mohr has been charged with Felony Exploitation of the Elderly, felony Fraudulent use of a Credit Card, and felony Criminal Use of Personal Identification. More charges are pending.

According to Sarasota Police, Mohr and his girlfriend, Cristina Arteaga,  used the debit card and credit card of his 83-year-old grandmother over the course of two and a half months this summer.

Surveillance images from a Bank of America ATM captured the two of them making withdrawals of up to $200 on several occasions.

Arteaga has not been arrest yet, but numerous charges have been filed for her.
