SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Sarasota County has passed the 300,000 mark for registered voters, Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent announced Monday.
Tuesday is the last day a person can register to be eligible to vote in the general election on Nov. 8 and new numbers show an increase of registered voters in Sarasota County.
All three elections offices in Sarasota, Venice and North Port will accept new voter registrations until 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Applications that are postmarked by October 18 will also be accepted and processed for the November election.
Florida Voter Registration Application forms are available at all elections offices, city halls, county libraries and offices, and social service agencies, and may be downloaded from the elections website.
Elections offices are located in the Terrace Building, 101 South Washington Blvd., Sarasota; the Robert L. Anderson Administration Center, 4000 Tamiami Trail South, Room 114, Venice, and Biscayne Plaza, 13640 Tamiami Trail, North Port.
A voter may check his or her voter registration status by going to www.SarasotaVotes.com. Select “Voter Information” from the menu, then select “Voter Lookup” and follow the easy instructions.
