SARASOTA, Fla. - Sarasota County is one step closer to banning synthetic drugs from being sold.   The county commission voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on February 12th to get public input on an ordinance that would ban the sale of drugs like bath salts and K2.

Law enforcement says synthetic drugs and incense are becoming more of a problem in the county.  If the ordinance  moves forward, a complete ban would be put in place on the sale of synthetic drugs.

A similar ban is already in place in Hillsborough County and Tampa.
