SARASOTA – Santa made time to spread some holiday to children too sick to spend their Christmas Day at home Tuesday morning.

Santa Claus, known on his days off as Greg Kalish, spent the morning delivering presents to kids who were spending their day at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. It's his fifth year visiting kids in the hospital.

His wife and son also get in on the act, helping to pass out gifts.

They say it's a great way to give back on Christmas, and it means as much to them as it does to the kids and parents who they help. "Nobody should be neglected around Christmas time, so we like to come in and give gifts to the kids and the babies."

This year the pediatric ward didn't have a lot of patients, which Kalish says is a good thing. The hospital's staff does everything it can to get sick kids well enough to go home for the holiday.
