ELLENTON, Fla. (AP) - The parent company of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus says it will consolidate its operations in the Tampa Bay-area.

Feld Entertainment spokesman Stephen Payne says the circus' winter quarters will move to a new 47-acre campus in Ellenton.

The circus currently spends its winters at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Payne says that Feld also plans to relocate its global headquarters from Vienna, Va., to Manatee County over the next five years.

Feld also produces other live shows such as Disney on Ice. Costumes, sets, lights and sound equipment that Feld currently keeps in Palmetto also will move to Ellenton.

The Manatee Economic Development Corp. says Feld will keep its 148 employees and is expected to add 235 new jobs over the next five years.
