SARASOTA-- News of an arrest in the Andrew Tian killing spread quickly to the restaurant he managed for the last 8 years.
Tian died last Friday from severe head trauma, after he was attacked Sunday, July 14th. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has charged Juan Rodriguez of Bradenton with manslaughter in connection to Tian's death.
"To think that such a terrible thing could happen to such a nice guy is tragic," said Walter Nourse, a longtime customer at New Dynasty.
For the past two weeks, customers have dropped of bouquets of flowers where Tian worked and shared countless stories about the manager they loved.
"His smile lightened your day," said Linda Saltzman, a customer.
Customers say they are elated that authorities have made an arrest.
"We gave a high five to eachother in the food line. We were very glad the police were in full force and caught him," said Scott Salzman.
"I was very happy. I didn't think they were going to catch them because there were no cameras or anything," said Yisbel Diaz, a customer.
A celebration of life for Tian will happen this Sunday, July 28th at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ on Euclid Avenue in Sarasota. It is open to the public.
