CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers say a Punta Gorda woman died Wednesday when she pressed the accelerator too hard while pulling out of her driveway.

89-year-old Lillian Stalnaker was pronounced dead at Lee Memorial Hospital Wednesday evening.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Stalnaker was pulling out of her driveway on Pine Needle Drive in a mobile home community off Jones Loop Road when she pressed the gas too hard while in reverse.

Her vehicle backed across the street and onto Sugarwood Street, where it crashed into a mobile home.
