MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Next week, residents can check out the plans to improve portions of I-75 and University Parkway near the upcoming University Town Center mall.

The project includes expanding I-75 by two more lanes and redesigning the University Parkway interchange from the existing diamond design to a diverging diamond.

Plans call for I-75, from north of Fruitville Road to north of University Parkway, to be widened to an eight lane highway. The project also includes widening about one mile of University Parkway from the Cattlemen Road/Cooper Creek Boulevard intersection to the Market Street/Lake Osprey Drive intersection in Lakewood Ranch.

A public meeting on this project will be held Thursday, June 26th,from 4:30pm to 7pm, at the Holiday Inn Lakewood Ranch’s Osprey Room (6231 Lake Osprey Drive).
