Public meeting will discuss Cortez Bridge repairs

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Manatee County residents can learn more about upcoming lane closures for the Cortez Bridge repair project tonight.

Work is scheduled to begin on the nearly 60-year old bridge later this month. Tuesday night, officials with the Florida Department of Transportation will hold an information meeting.

The $4 million project will extend the life of the bridge by about 10 years.

The meeting begins at 5:00pm at the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church on Cortez Road at 60th Street Court West in Bradenton.
