SARASOTA - Suncoast boat owners are raising questions over a proposed roundabout in Sarasota.

The project in question would place a roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 41 and 10th Street. But many boaters and commercial fishermen fear the traffic circle will be difficult to navigate and block their access to the nearby 10th Street Boat Ramp.

“I'm not really sure that those tests are accurate to what the real public is going to experience...it could be just a real hazardous situation,” says one boater.

The roundabout is part of a plan that also includes improvements at Centennial Park. FDOT will hold a public hearing on the project in the next two to three months
