SARASOTA COUNTY - Three potential Sarasota County charter schools are still in the running to start up next school year.

Six schools originally applied to the school board in August, but at a meeting earlier this month board members complained to applicants about numerous mistakes in the applications.

That negative feedback caused three charter school groups to drop their plans.

The board will make its decision on the three remaining charter schools at a meeting next month.

Those three are Horizons Unlimited Creative Learning, Sarasota Military Academy Prep and Sarasota Academy of Math and Sciences.
