SARASOTA, Fla. - A suspected meth lab at a Sarasota storage facility turned up nothing dangerous; at least not yet.

Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies were called to the U-Haul facility on U.S. 41 just south of Proctor Road Friday afternoon. Someone claimed one of the storage units was housing potentially dangerous chemicals.

That's when deputies called in the county's HAZMAT team. "The call came out as chemicals here in the storage unit, so the HAZMAT team responded, but their detectors did not detect anything dangerous," says Lt. David Scott.

While they couldn't get inside the unit, there were no signs of anything that could potentially cause harm.

Deputies say they're working to legally enter the unit, and their investigation will continue.
