A prime piece of Sarasota waterfront property could soon have a new owner.  The Herald Tribune is reporting that the former Quay location will likely be bought by a Jacksonville development company.

Reports say developer Green Pointe Holdings sent its president to meet with Sarasota's city manager earlier this week.  There is also word that an email was sent to Sarasota Mayor Shannon Snyder confirming the developer's plans to buy the 14 acre property.

The land where the Quay once stood has been vacant since 2007.  No word yet what the developer plans to do with the property if purchased.
