SARASOTA-- A popular restaurant manager who was brutally attacked by three men last Sunday night is in grave condition at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, according to his longtime girlfriend.
51-year-old Andrew Tian was assaulted by the men after he chased after them for not paying their bill at New Dynasty Chinese Buffet on Tamiami Trail. Tian was found on the ground, unconscious, around 9:30 that evening in a neighboring parking lot. He is currently on life support after sustaining major injuries to his head.
Tian's girlfriend, Marylou Anderson, spoke with ABC 7 on Tuesday night from her home, before returning to the hospital.
"They were cowards," said Anderson. "He was the kindest, most gentle man. He did things for people he didn't even know."
Anderson believes Tian would have even picked up the tab for the three men if they told him they didn't have any money.
"This morning, the doctor told me and his son that Andrew may not survive. There can always be a miracle. We are hoping and praying," Anderson said.
Even if he does survive, Anderson says he will never be the same again due to the the head trauma he suffered.
All three suspects are described as Hispanic males in their 20's. One of them has a pierced lip and eyebrow. Another has a rosary tattoo on his wrist and hand.
If anyone saw these men Sunday night in the area of New Dynasty, or you have any information on this senseless act, you are asked to call the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers at (941) 366-TIPS. Crime Stoppers is offering a $1000 reward to anyone with information that can lead to an arrest.
