SARASOTA - Police are investigating a shots fired incident in which a car passing by was struck by a bullet.

Sarasota Police say two women in a white Crown Victoria were driving in the 3300 block of Central Avenue around 3am Monday morning.  That's when they say they heard multiple shooters open fire, striking the passenger side of the car once.

Nobody was reported injured.

The women told police that they were on their way to Bradenton and were using Central Avenue as a shortcut.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Detective John Todd at 941-954-7091.
