Police: 40 pounds of marijuana found in North Port grow house

NORTH PORT, Fla. -- Drug enforcement authorities raided a North Port home Thursday, uncovering a grow house operation and 40 pounds of marijuana.

Officers from the North Port Police Special Investigations Unit, Special

Enforcement Team, Patrol, and members of the Martin County DEA Task Force served a search warrant at 2775 La Casa Road.

Inside the house officers found approximately 40 pounds of processed and packaged marijuana, and a grow operation of approximately 50 marijuana plants in both the main house and in a shed.

Police arrested the homeowner, 37-year-old Adonys Martinez, and charged him with Maintaining a Dwelling for Cultivation/Sale, and Trafficking Drugs.

37-year-old Calixto Fiallo was also in the house during the raid, and has been charged with Trafficking in Cannabis, Sale, and Possession with Intent to Sell; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
