Police: Man robs Sarasota pharmacy of pain meds

SARASOTA, FL. - Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are currently investigating a robbery that occurred Thursday at Hedges Health Mart Pharmacy, 24 North Lime Avenue.

According to a report, witnesses and employees told detectives at around 2:15 p.m., a white male wearing a mask over his face walked into the pharmacy, implied he had a weapon and asked for a certain prescription pain medication. Employees gave the suspect what he asked for. The suspect then left the store and left the scene in a white vehicle.

The suspect is described as:

• White male

• Weight: Heavy set

• Height: 5’10”

• Age: Mid-40s to 50

• Last seen wearing long pants, blue jean jacket with a white or grey t-shirt underneath the jacket with an American flag
